Decision to prosecute Alec Baldwin after “Rust” accident prompts discussion about Brandon Lee and “The Crow”
A New Mexico district attorney has decided to charge Alec Baldwin for the accident that killed Halyna Hutchins on the set of “Rust”. If convicted, Baldwin could face up to a year and half in prison.
Several times during the progression of the investigation, the subject has brought up another tragedy involving Brandon Lee on the set of “The Crow”. Lee, the son of legendary martial arts superstar, Bruce Lee, was on his way to what appeared to be a successful movie career in following his dad’s footsteps.
Social media once again decided to compare the two accidents and ask questions. So much so that Brandon Lee began trending…
The Alec Baldwin thing makes me mad because it’s the exact kind of circumstance that unfortunately caused the death of Brandon Lee in “The Crow”
Anyone doing their own stunts or using props assumes that the department has calculated and adapted for risks surrounding the use.

Micheal Masse wasn’t charged with accidentally shooting Brandon Lee on the set of “The Crow” but yet Alec Baldwin gets charged with involuntary manslaughter though…how is that right?

I think that’s so unfair that Alec Baldwin is being charged w involuntary manslaughter… Was anyone charged w Brandon Lee’s death?? Was anyone charged when other accidents happened???
It’s terrible. It’s tragic. But that’s not just. Sorry.

Why is Alec Baldwin charged, but Michael Groo Massee wasn’t for the accidental shooting of Brandon Lee on a movie set? Making actors responsible for knowing if a prop weapon is hot or cold doesn’t feel like a workable precedent, unless he was irresponsible in other ways. https://t.co/l2Ugc3686Z

Everyone comparing Brandon Lee dying to Alec Baldwin’s situation does not understand the insane set of circumstances involved in the accident on The Crow vs the insanely stupid shit in Baldwin’s case.

Why isn’t Brandon Lee killer charged with involuntary manslaughter like Alec Baldwin just was

A lot of people screaming that this was a prop gun, but I wonder how many of them know or remember when Brandon Lee was killed on set.
I also wonder if these are the same people who tell their kids not to point you guns at people.

I did not think he would be charged as I don’t believe anyone was charged when Brandon Lee died. https://t.co/4L8eGBQKQh

Since people seem to be confused about the incident with Alec Baldwin on Rust, comparing it to Brandon Lee’s death, here’s a thread on why Baldwin is actually responsible.
(Hint: When your company produces the movie you are responsible for safety on set.) https://t.co/LT7ASEKYtt

I still don’t know how all this went down.. did they ever charge the person who gave him the gun? I can’t remember what happened on the crow set when Brandon Lee died https://t.co/I2HwdWuMzQ

Regardless of anyone’s personal dislike for Alec Baldwin, this is absolutely ridiculous. No one was charged when Brandon Lee was shot, yet OJ and Casey Anthony walk free. 🙄

Michael Masse accidentally shot Brandon Lee on the set of “The Crow”. He had to take a year off from working from the trauma. Alec Baldwin is in the same boat. SM wasn’t around back then. We actually celebrated the movie & mourned the loss. Accidents frigging happen!

Really don’t like the reason Brandon Lee is trending.

The difference with The Crow was; to save $$ the powers that be decided to use real ammo & have PA’s empty the bullets removing the gunpowder & filling them with whatever they use to make blanks. One bullet had enough gunpowder to keep it live which is what killed Brandon Lee

What do you think? Should filmmakers implement more safety measures on the set of their productions? Let me know in the comments below.
