Before we began, I’m talking about the Florida Democratic Party. The organization that is very well compensated to ensure the Sunshine State turns blue each election cycle. This is not about registered Democrats at home. In fact, you’re the victims
Do you know what one of the first things the Florida Democratic Party did for the 2018 midterm elections after it turned red for 2016 presidential contest?
They cut a Spotify Playlist (story HERE).
And Governor Ron DeSantis was elected. And so was Senator Rick Scott, who had already bested the Florida Democratic Party twice before, and this time at the cost of ending the career of the beloved longtime incumbent, Bill Nelson.
Now after last night’s shocking defeat at the hands of their friends on the other side of the aisle, some Democratic lawmakers, including Orlando State Representative, Anna Eskamani, are calling for yet another overhaul of the state party.
I’m saying it now. We need a whole new direction for the @FlaDems. We are losing too many incredible down ballot elected officials and candidates right now and it’s not ok. I know we have the potential to be better and do better. We do it everyday here in #HD47.

And yes, Orlando Democrats have the street cred here. They reelected three sitting members of Congress, as well as almost a dozen incumbents at the state level here in the tri county area.
The saddest part is that this is to be expected from the Florida Dems. A cocky and self absorbed collective that was plenty prone to talking trash but are left once again looking completely foolish.
What is terrible is that we still might not see real reform. They’ll have their party elections and some people with a lot of money will swoop in and take the positions. I’ve seen it happen a couple of times now.
And with the possibility of traditional mid term fatigue, if Biden is the President, they still might lose the big statewide races in 2022.
But they have no one to blame but themselves. They’re terrible.
They deserve all of the scrutiny the members of their party can throw at them.
