VP Debate: Mike Pence and Kamala Harris both give us more than their bosses

After a train wreck of a debate last week between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden in their first confrontation, it was time to hear from Kamala Harris and Mike Pence on Wednesday night in their first and only debate between the two Vice Presidential candidates.

Moderator Susan Page, a 47 year veteran from USA Today, delivered a strong conversation between the candidates with each of them scoring points during different times of the discussion on the issues separated by plexiglass. Both Pence and Harris clashed a few times over issues like the coronavirus recovery and the environment, but neither wouldn’t touch questions about the ages of the two 70 plus candidates at the top of the ticket and being prepared for the worst.

Social media was junk during the debate as usual with partisan shouting dominating the trends. Post debate coverage featured some interesting analysis between partisan pundits on various networks, as well as a CNN Poll that had both candidates around 65% surrounding the question over whether they were ready to be president.

It was a strong debate, but the good times aren’t going to last long.

The next Presidential debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden is coming next week from Miami in a town hall like format. We can’t expect either of these two to back off of the smoke both were throwing during that memorable but ridiculous slap fight from last week.
