Katie Couric, the longtime journalist and first women to anchor a nightly news broadcast on a major network, started her two week stint hosting Jeopardy today, becoming the first woman to host the beloved trivia show. And on International Women’s Day.
Her first outing got mixed reviews on social media.
Katie Couric did a great job guest hosting Jeopardy tonight, very fitting for International Women’s Day! pic.twitter.com/JWoLgM48v3

I don’t know why, but I’m finding Katie Couric oddly comforting as the guest host of Jeopardy. She’s my favorite so far

I’ve seen enough! Please make the fabulous Katie Couric the permanent host of #Jeopardy already! pic.twitter.com/ghvIi3cIPe

"You visited all major league baseball stadiums. What made you do that? You must love baseball."

Katie Couric is no longer likable and a complete asshat. Jeopardy is failing at finding a replacement for the near-perfect Alex Trebek. It's getting downright pathetic. Go find a no-name who doesn't run their mouths on political subjects so we can all enjoy the new person

One day is far too early to make a final verdict on how Couric will ultimately be received. Even Jeopardy GOAT Ken Jennings needed a warm up period. An informal estimate would have show producer, Mike Richards, as the most popular stand in up to this point.
Other hosts on deck included Anderson Cooper, Dr. Oz, and football great, Aaron Rodgers.
Still no Will Ferrell (story HERE).
