Lopez vs. Lopez: All of the baseball references you may have missed “Loose Dog Ears”

Solid episode of Lopez vs. Lopez this week. But instead of a traditional review, I’m just going to fill in the blanks on all of the baseball references we heard this week.

First off, Madonna, Geena Davis, and “No Crying in Baseball” are all from a League of Their Own, from the 1992 film also starring Tom Hanks.

“Faux Dimaggio” is a play of Joe Dimaggio, the Yankee Clipper.

The Yankees are also often pronounced (the jahn-kees) by Hispanic fans, a continued play on accents from the title of this episode “Lopez vs. Los Doyers.

Teal, black, and white are the real colors of the Florida Salmons, I mean Marlins.

Yes. Quinten does kind of look like pop star, Sean Mendez, if you squint really hard.

The Little Rascals were often a boys club. Except for whenever they had to get bailed out by Darla.

Kareem Abdul Jabbar is the NBA points leader and played for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Wrigley Field is where the Cubs play.

The guys were watching “While You Were Sleeping” the 1995 rom com starring Sandra Bullock, which proved that she could open a movie as a headliner after her breakout performances in Speed and Demolition Man.

See you guys next time!
