Taco Bell is going to make you “Live Mas” without your precious Mexican Pizza

Sad news for fans of the Mexican Pizza from Taco Bell. The fast food giant is removing the popular item from it’s menus because they’re trying to save on the waste the packaging creates.

Their statement, in part reads,

We know some fans may be sad to see this one go, we are too. One silver lining of saying goodbye to the Mexican Pizza that might help you rest easy is that removing it from our menus helps us work towards our commitment to leave a lighter footprint on our planet. Currently, Mexican Pizza packaging accounts for over 7 million pounds of paperboard material per year in the U.S.

So now we’ve got to “Live Mas” without our Mexican Pizza?

Come on, man. You know that this has to be about money. Taco Bell can create a computer generated talking chihuahua to sell us food 20 years ago, they can’t just put the Mexican Pizza in the same wrapper they just put everything else in? If they really wanted to save this item, they could.

This could just be another tactic to bring it back at a later time. Absence makes the heart grow fonder. Perhaps we’re going to see the Mexican Pizza next spring in some grand return revolving around an ad campaign.

That I actually could believe.

But for right now, kiss your Mexican Pizza good by and say hello to the (looks at other items on the release) ..
