Buddy Dyer is right, best way to support the USWNT is to fill Orlando Pride games

The United States Women’s National Team made the entire country proud on Sunday by defeating the Netherlands 2-0 to win their second consecutive World Cup.

Fans here in Central Florida wanted to know how to honor the players from the team that play for the Orlando Pride, Alex Morgan, Ali Krieger, and Ashlyn Harris.

A parade was suggested and that’s a good idea, but Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer made this suggestion.

Not sure about that. I think the best way we can recognize them is by packing the stadium for @ORLPride matches the rest of the season.— Mayor Buddy Dyer (@orlandomayor) July 7, 2019

He’s right. If you want to support the players the best way is to fill these games. We haven’t been doing enough to support our Orlando Pride (story HERE).

Sadly, it’s possible that after the celebrations and media tours are over, we’ll go back to forgetting that we have the opportunity to watch the world’s best players right here in Orlando. No airline ticket to France necessary.

We need to do our best to keep that mistake from happening.

If you can’t afford a ticket, keep talking about the team. Follow them on social media and stay positive. Ask for more coverage of the Pride from our news organizations here at home.

It’s all positive. It all helps.

I’m proud to be from this community where our first instinct is to praise our neighbors when they do truly exceptional things that make us proud. This is a great conversation to be having.

So, lets all do our best to support the Orlando Pride, and take in a game or two.

And a parade would also be pretty cool too.
