Frank’s NFL Power Rankings: Training Camp edition: It’s still Brady and Belichick for now

Training camp has kicked off around the NFL, which means it’s time to start gauging the potential for all 32 teams.

Here are the first Power Rankings for the 2019 season.

  1. New England Patriots: The champs are back minus Gronk. Still, never bet against Brady and Belichick this early.
  2. New Orleans Saints: After that bad call in the NFC Championship, they’ll have something to prove.
  3. Kansas City Chiefs: How good will Patrick Mahomes be this year?
  4. Los Angeles Rams: Sean McVay will have his guys ready to go.
  5. Chicago Bears: Mitchell Trubisky will be better, and Khalil Mack will once again be a menace.
  6. Los Angeles Chargers: It would be nice to see Phillip Rivers make it to the top of the mountain. He’ll have another strong team behind him again.
  7. Dallas Cowboys: This team is in their window. It’s time to make a run.
  8. Indianapolis Colts: We know Andrew Luck has recovered, now is the time in Indy. Frank Reich will have some great ideas.
  9. Philadelphia Eagles: If Carson Wentz can stay healthy, there is no reason to think why they can’t go far again this year.
  10. Houston Texans: This could be one of the most fun teams to watch in the NFL this year.
  11. Pittsburgh Steelers: Two of the “Big B” players are gone, but don’t bet against Roethlisberger and Mike Tomlin.
  12. Baltimore Ravens: Lamar Jackson is going to be fun to watch this year.
  13. Seattle Seahawks: Can Russell Wilson and Pete Carroll make another run? In that division, probably.
  14. Cleveland Browns: Did you ever think we’d be at the point where the Browns could be the most exciting team in the league?
  15. Tennessee Titans: Marcus Mariota. I have my doubts.
  16. Green Bay Packers: Aaron Rodgers needs to quiet his critics and start winning again.
  17. Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons still have the winning pieces. They’re a head scratcher.
  18. Minnesota Vikings: If they underachieve again, there will be some very unhappy fans in that dome.
  19. Carolina Panthers: Ron Rivera needs to find out what’s wrong with Cam Newton. It’s not just that shoulder, it’s possibly mental.
  20. Buffalo Bills: Josh Allen will make this team fun to watch this year.
  21. Denver Broncos: It would be very un-Bronco-like to underachieve again for John Elway and his guys.
  22. Miami Dolphins: The QB search continues in Miami.
  23. Washington Redskins: This wasn’t an awful team before Alex Smith got hurt. Can they start to build something again.
  24. Detroit Lions: People are starting to ask about Matthew Stafford’s legacy and that’s unfortunate. He’s not a bad quarterback.
  25. Jacksonville Jaguars: If that defense can wake up and give Nick Foles some space this team can get better quickly.
  26. Cincinnati Bengals: It will be strange not seeing Marvin Lewis on the sidelines this year.
  27. Oakland-Vegas-LA Raiders: Jon Gruden got one of the best in Antonio Brown. They have to improve.
  28. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Jameis Winston doesn’t have much time left.
  29. New York Giants: Eli needs to decide how he wants to be remembered in his final years playing the game.
  30. San Francisco 49ers: Jimmy G is back from injury. Can he restore his winning ways?
  31. New York Jets: Le’veon Bell will have to drag this team into the “W” column. There is a lot of conflict here.
  32. Arizona Cardinals: They’re in last here, but with Kyler Murray they could rise very quickly.
