AEW Dynamite: Musical number divides audience, but remarkable matches unite all

AEW Dynamite on TNT had another entertaining outing on Tuesday night, and while we experienced some of the best free wrestling of the year during the broadcast, a musical number with two of the best talkers in the game divided opinion on social media.

The World Title Eliminator tournament began and got the fans cheering online. Lead by a superb contest between Penta and Rey Fenix, all four matches had their moments including Kenny Omega’s impressive entrance to beat Sunny Kiss, who was brought in at the last minute. We also had Hangman Adam Page beat Colt Cabana is a great contest with some more story development and a match up between Wardlow and Jungle Boy that kicked off the show with some excitement. Wardlow had his hand raised but both athletes looked great. Next week we’re getting Fenix vs. Omega and Page vs. Wardlow in the second round.

The four team tag to end the show was also impressive with the Young Bucks defeating the Dark Order, Private Party, and the Butcher and the Blade for the right to face FTR for the championships. FTR rushed the Bucks after their win to close out the show.

It was all golden until “Le Dinner Debonair” with Chris Jericho and MJF. This steak dinner was intended to continue discussing if the latter would join the Inner Circle. After some funny dialog, the two actually began a musical number and that’s where they lost some people. Some fans called it a bad episode of Family Guy, others thought it strayed too far from the wrestling excellence they had been watching the entire evening. Both will easily recover and move on. They’re too good not to. Next week, we’re getting a town hall discussion to determine if MJF gets to join the group.

The show was great, and after this winning streak they’ve been on, it’s good to see the fans bite back a little bit. It allows the organization the chance to keep getting better.
