The Book of Boba Fett: Cyberpunks, Rancor wranglers, and Wookie bed turning down service

Warning: the following contains spoilers for the most recent episode of The Book of Boba Fett!

Well, that was just a lot of fun.

Chapter 3 of The Book of Boba Fett gave fans a lot of new characters, plot development, and a lot of action. Let’s not waste anymore time.

We continue watching Boba and Fennec Shand try to navigate Jabba The Hutt’s empire. And apparently we’re going to war.

Before the show moved forward, they tied off the past loop with the Tusken Raiders in a heartbreaking fashion. Killing that tribe wasn’t completely unpredictable but very unlikely. It was an emotionally potent moment (that score, goodness) and underlined that we’re dealing with gangsters. Not Ewoks.

Let’s talk about the Cyberpunks. I think they’re terrific muscle for Boba and I’m surprised Star Wars hasn’t gone full speed with this before. We had Luke’s hand. Vader’s body. But to have these body augmentations done for an advantage was good story telling. That land speeder chase was a lot of fun.

Krystann the Wookie for real ripped open the bacta tank and pulled Boba out of it while sleeping, and the following fight was incredible. Ultimately, the Cyberpunks rescued him but that was some tense stuff. Instead of selling him back to the Gladiators, Boba released him. We know we’ll see him again and his hero turn will be magnificent.

We’re getting Boba riding Rancor aren’t we?: And I’m all good with that. It was great having Danny Trejo brought into the Star Wars universe as the rancor wrangler, who presented Boba with the gift from the Hutts and it all worked.

This was probably the most forward looking Book of Boba Fett we’ve gotten so far. And it continues to work. I’m having a lot of fun writing about it.
