The news came down this afternoon that Seattle Seahawks running back Chris Carson, would be retiring from the NFL at the age of 28 due to injury.
While it’s okay to feel disappointed for Carson, who was one of the best when he was healthy, it’s also important to celebrate his career. He’s only 28 years and the world is front of him. He made it to the big NFL show, a reality that almost every other athlete that picks up a football will never realize. It’s important to bring that into focus.
The man played the game the way we all dreamed we could play the game. That’s special.
Let’s look at some of the positive words for Carson after the news came down..
Huge respect to Chris Carson as he heads to retirement. Always seemed like a player who did the absolute most with what he had… and that was a lot. https://t.co/Pwm5BZe4vZ

Huge bummer, even if this was the expected outcome.
Chris Carson has been one of the most underrated players in the NFL since 2018.
Such an absolute stud whose name will always resonate in Seattle. https://t.co/s5iDmUp5hU

Since we are all sharing some Chris Carson highlights – this was one of my favorites! One of those moments you jump off the couch and are screaming, “OHHHHHHH Damnnnn! What did he just do?! Let’s see that again!” #Seahawks #GoHawks

An absolute DAWG and one of those guys Seahawks fans will speak fondly of 20 years from now.
Chris Carson is absolutely that dude— here’s to the next chapter of his life being even more rewarding than his NFL career was.

Chris Carson will always be one of my favorites to cover. Great story overcoming odds as a seventh-round pick and becoming a two-time 1,000-yard rusher. A tank running between the tackles and underrated receiver.
Most importantly, a great man. Always respectful and a big heart.

One of the most punishing runners whose playing style unfortunately leads to an early retirement. Chris Carson was fun as hell to watch. #Seahawks https://t.co/TZGponXUnt
