Tonight, was a big night of television. We were saying good night to a Thursday night staple that has been part of lives playing the same character for almost 20 years.
That was Ellen Pompeo playing Dr. Meredith Grey.
ABC projected this farewell. It was poised to be a universally loved piece of television.
